Residents of the Brockley Ward will be voting for their new Councillors on Thursday 22nd May. To help you decide which Councillors to vote for The Brockley Cross Action Group has organised a Hustings event, which is to be held on the 15th May at the Brockley Social Club, Brockley Road, from 7.00pm onwards.
This will be your opportunity to meet the candidates and to ask them questions about the big issues that effect Brockley Ward residents. Come along and get involved in the political debate – all Brockley residents welcome! We have invited candidates from Labour, the Greens, Liberal Democrats, Conservatives, People before Profit, the Trade Union Coalition and UKIP.
Each candidate will be asked to introduce themselves and tell us what they would do for Brockley, and then the questions will begin – it should be a lively evening! The bar will be open during the event.
You’re invited to hear a talk by Edward Mayer on Swift Conservation on 1st April at St Peter’s Church, Wickham Road, Brockley.

Hello, applications for stalls at the 2013 Brockley Christmas market have now closed because our subscription list is full.
However, things change and sometimes we do get stallholders dropping out at the eleventh hour, so if you would like to be on the reserve list it’s still possible to send over an application form with a cheque, and if we can’t get you in, we’ll return your cheque to you.

The Brockley Cross Action Group is again hosting the annual Brockley Christmas Market! This year’s event will be held on Saturday 14th December and will run from 12.00am until 6.00pm in Coulgate Street next to Brockley Station. The Street will be closed for the day. Pictures from last year’s market can be seen here.
We are inviting applications for market stalls for the event. This community event has been a big success over the last 6 years and we intend to make the 2013 Market another memorable event, with up to 45 stalls. The Brockley Christmas Market has established itself as a popular, well attended annual event that draws in the local community and brings Christmas cheer & festive fare to Brockley!
Once again this year we intend to have a wide range of mainly arts & crafts and food stalls, live music, carol singing, a Christmas tree lighting ceremony & a BXAG stall selling mulled wine & mince pies. The Market will be well advertised locally to maximise publicity and will be a good opportunity to promote your business.
BXAG will provide covered stalls & lighting, with canopies to protect against any rain. The stalls are approx 7ft long by 3ft deep. Coulgate Street will be closed for the whole day. The cost of a stall includes all public liability & event insurance, stall & road licences, lighting and stall hire. Unfortunately we have had to increase our 2013 hire price as Lewisham Council has increased the stall licence charge from £10.00 to £17.50 per stall. Please note we do not make a profit from the stall hire, we only charge enough to cover our stall costs.
The cost of hiring a stall this year is £55.00. If you would like to hire a stall for the day please complete this form and return it to us with a cheque c/o The Treasurer, 80 Revlon Rd, London SE4 2PR. Or, take the completed form and your cheque or cash to the Broca cafe, Coulgate St Brockley, FAO Rupert King, BXAG.
